The Position

We are looking for an entry-level Web Developer who has some experience in the development, testing, and implementation of websites. In this entry-level position, you will create websites using WordPress and Drupal.

You will work as part of a team on projects that go from website concept to completion, and you will interface internally with our web development team. We need someone that is organized, follows direction, communicates clearly, and has skills in website development, including executing markup (HTML/CSS).

Flexibility, adaptability and the ability to learn quickly in various technical and creative environments, while delivering quality work within tight deadlines, are key attributes of this position.

Essential Qualifications & Skills

  • One or more years of professional experience in web development
  • Knowledge of the best practices and limitations of web design (layout widths, fonts, image optimization, etc.).
  • Capable of taking Photoshop/Illustrator assets to develop them into a responsive theme using HTML and CSS.
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS), either WordPress or Drupal.
  • Knowledge of new CSS3 and HTML5 techniques.
  • Experience with responsive and mobile design coding techniques.
  • Experience debugging cross-browser issues and troubleshooting development complications.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment.
  • Experience creating WordPress or Drupal PHP & HTML templates.

Essential Functions of this Position

  • Optimize websites to ensure they render consistently in cross-browser environments.
  • Build and maintain WordPress/Drupal themes optimized for mobile devices.
  • Customize base WordPress/Drupal themes.
  • Document processes and code in a clear, comprehensive and organized manner.
  • Provide support for ongoing maintenance of existing websites.
  • Report, track and fix website bugs.
